An immersive docu-fiction film about humanity's largest ever construction project. Directed by visionary architect Liam Young in collaboration with a network of scientists and technologists, The Great Endeavor chronicles the design, construction, and drama of a planetary network of machines, working on a global scale to remove carbon from the atmosphere by the gigatonne, in an effort to stop climate change. The film was created as part of Tribeca Immersive 2024.

Local Formations was responsible for the film's visual effects. From the scorched deserts to the tumultuous oceans, the film is entirely computer generated.

Designed to appeal to both casual moviegoers and diehard immersive audiences, The Great Endeavor experience takes the form of a 5-channel immersive projection at Mercer Labs, the newly-opened museum of art and technology in lower Manhattan.
