Brian Bress: Fruit Salad
Anamorphic 3D Billboard
Client: The City of West Hollywood
Our Role: Projection Mapping
"The city's first full-motion, ultra-high-definition 3D anamorphic billboard" - The City of West Hollywood
Shot practically in-camera and then precisely mapped to the billboard, 'Fruit Salad' is a series of three 3D anamorphic billboard artworks by artist Brian Bress, created as part of the 'Moving Image Media Art' Exhibition Series by the City of West Hollywood. Located at 8497 West Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, the artworks immerse viewers in experiences that are tangibly playful while also pushing the possibilities of contemporary spatial screen technology.

Local Formations was responsible for the projection mapping of the three artworks, translating the live action footage to the three dimensional billboard, creating the optical illusion of depth.
The billboard is best viewed from the sidewalk at the southeast corner of West Sunset Boulevard and North La Cienega Boulevard. The artworks can be seen at the top of every hour.
